What is priority registration?
Priority registration is generally a two-week period following the mailing of the Happenings (catalog). Once you've become a member and requested your classes, you can prioritize your classes anytime during the priority registration period by going to “My Account” and clicking “My Priorities” on our Membership Page.
When priority registration closes, classes are assigned based on those registrations submitted during that time frame. Following the priority registration period all other registrations are considered until the general registration deadline on a space-available basis.
If I am on a waiting list, what are the chances of getting in?
The waiting list for classes varies greatly. If a vacancy becomes available, you will be notified prior to the class beginning or within the first two weeks of the term. Please do not show up for a class unless you have received confirmation of your placement from the US office.
How should I designate my preferences if I am interested in two classes meeting at the same time?
You may not register for two classes that occur at the same time.
Can I take courses for college credits through this program?
UMD University for Seniors classes are non-credit earning. If you are interested in auditing courses for credit or pursuing a degree at UMD, and are 62 or older, you may qualify for the Senior Citizen Education Program. Call our One Stop Student Service for more information, 218-726-8000, or email [email protected].
Do you have classes in the summer?
